On the basis of the tax declaration, the state automatically grants an insurance subsidy to eligible persons. The subsidy is paid directly to the insurance company, which deducts it from the insurance premium. 

People who have recently arrived in Geneva must submit an application : New arrivals in Geneva in 2024 or 2025. The forms for requesting subsidies following relocation to the canton of Geneva in 2025 or 2026 will be available online in February 2026.

People taxed at source must also apply each year. If you were taxed at source in 2024, you must submit a subsidy application.
